obsolete is gold, in my own little way.

How many people you know of still uses Sony Playstation One, the bigger version? Haha, you will know at least one. That's me.

It was actually bought after my PSLE and so subsequently I was given the green light to play only during school holidays. It was the 'in-thing' back in those days, and having one was like having an object of superiority over others. Then came the smaller PS 1, PS2 and now PSP and PS3. There's even XBox 370. =P And my PS 1 became obsolete.

For these 7 years or so, it was kept, or rather hidden, in a quiet corner of my mum's cabinet, untouched. Not until a few days back, when I felt an impulse to retrieve it and try using it. To my disappointment, the audio-visual and AC power cord cables were missing. So I spend a couple of days searching everywhere for these 2 cables and I finally got them at Sim Lim Square, for an 'antique' price of $40.

Back home, I could not wait to start using it, and when I turned the power on, the loading music somehow seemed to time-travel me back to those days when I was so fanatical about Playstation. As I was playing my then favourite game, FIFA 2000, I was like 'ewww the graphics so damn jialat', but at the same time thinking 'aiyah what the heck, I'm enjoying myself in a way unique to me.'

So whoever said obsolete is bad?
